Looking to be Remembered as an Animal Lover?
Consider including Father John’s Animal House as a beneficiary in your will or estate plans. A gift through your estate provides future support for our work to find caring homes for otherwise homeless animals and promote spay/neuter procedures to reduce the over-population and suffering of unwanted animals.
How It Works:
- You include a bequest provision in your will or revocable trust that designates Father John’s Animal House as the beneficiary of a specific amount or a percentage of your estate.
- After your death, Father John’s Animal House receives the bequest.
- Anyone, regardless of the size of their estate, can make a bequest to Father John’s Animal House.
Benefits:
- You will be remembered for your love of animals.
- You control your assets during your lifetime; since your bequest is not payable until your death, it does not affect your cash flow.
- You can change your beneficiaries or gift provisions at any time.
- Your gift may provide estate tax savings.
How It Works:
- You name Father John’s Animal House as a beneficiary of an IRA, 401(k) or other retirement plan by filling out a Designation of Beneficiary form provided to you by your retirement plan administrator. Typically, these forms have you choose what percentage of your plan you want each beneficiary to receive.
- After your death, Father John’s Animal House receives your contribution.
Benefits:
- You will be remembered for your love of animals.
- Simple to do – does not require modifying your will or trust.
- You can change your beneficiaries or gift provisions at any time.
- No federal income tax is due on the funds that are given to Father John’s – potentially reducing the tax burden for your heirs.
- Your gift may also provide estate tax savings.
- Your gift provides future support for Father John’s Animal House.
